Installation of columns

On the construction site of the UGS Energy refinery, the installation of the K-3001 and K-3005 columns on the block 014.2 (Block of sections 3000) has begun. The works are being carried out within the framework of the project of the second phase of the 2nd stage "Combined installation for the processing of straight-run gasoline fractions UK-1".

The equipment was manufactured by Izhora factories that are part of the OMZ Group (United Machine Building Plants) and transported in parts to the UGS Energy refinery by rail.

Column-3001, diameter 2.4 m, consists of three components. Its height is 80.2 m, the mass is 165.8 tons.

Column K-3005, with a diameter of 3.4 m, consists of five components. Its height will be 98.5 m., mass - 363.8 tons.

A crane with a carrying capacity of 500 tons was used to unload the units and install the columns. Assembly of assembly blocks is being carried out on special metal stands. The first assembly seam will be applied at a height of 9 meters, and the last cylindrical part of the column will be welded at a height of 45 meters. In the process of assembly, the columns are equipped with internal devices and external metal structures.

Completion of the assembly works is planned in the 4th quarter of 2018, after which hydro tests of the columns will begin to test their tightness.
